Cherry Blossom, Large hand painted silk wallpaper panel, Exploring and stretching the Dynamic Chinoiserie theme

A unapologetically bold statement piece... Diane has taken the Cherry Blossom, a recurring motif in classic Chinoiserie art and design and completely stripped it away from the usual style. The format and the flowers are based on a circle and are stylised and large-scale. Colours combine crisp white, black, yellow and purple on a blush pink silk ground. With bronze and teal Wisteria to neutralise. All hand painted using a mix of flat opaque colours, metallics, pearlised and glittering paints.

The piece is approx 1.40 wide and 2.5 in length. Painted on to a paper backed silk which can be installed as wallpaper to the wall or to a board and framed as a painting.
